I want to usher the New Year with a disciplined, committed, and a consistent sense of Self Care routine for myself. I wish that 2023 is a milestone year for me wherein I can set long-lasting personal health and wellness goals and strike a stable work-life balance.

I am guilty of being a workaholic and a workhorse. Often, I find myself accommodating so many needs of others including clients, voluntary roles, the family’s needs, care for the pets that I seem to end up with just no ‘Me Time’ to relax, rejuvenate and nurture my own self.

True as it sounds, these are “excuses” that we love to engage in and muddle ourselves with; to make-believe and convince ourselves that we are busy and tired and that there just isn’t enough time to do it all in a day!!!

Our profession is tough on the mind and the body, and without taking out time for our own self-care every single day, there is a huge potential of us reaching not only fatigue but also heading into a burn-out.

So, this New Year, I just don’t want to make a statement on the 1st of the year. I am starting a month early in December of 2022 and will work through the month to follow it up with ease in January of 2023.

The plan is to get back to an active lifestyle of outdoor exercise – running to be precise, yoga a few days of the week and become mindful with my diet (now being on the other side of the bell curve). Am hoping to clock in an approximate of 100 km a month (an average of 5km x 5days a week x 4 weeks in a month) and about a few 100 km in a few months.

Watch this space for an update ☺
