Member Criteria

Eligibility:

II/III year UG students, PG students, M. Phil /PhD scholars of Psychology/Social work, Counselling Psychology/ Clinical Psychology and allied disciplines.

Membership certificate will be provided to students who actively participate in CCF activities.

Documents Needed:

A photocopy of the student ID card with the membership application.

Junior Professional Counselor (JPC) Membership:

Eligibility:

Practising Counselors with a background of post-graduation in Psychology /Counselling psychology/ Clinical psychology/ Social work/ allied disciplines, under continued supervision can join as JPCs

Documents Needed:

He/She has to submit one letter of reference from an academician or a practitioner who has got experience of more than 5 years.

A photocopy of PG degree certificate/provisional certificate/mark sheet along with the application form

If you have a Supervisor, a letter of reference from their supervisor

Note:

• You have the option to complete 2000 supervision hours as a JPC during the 5-year tenure to be eligible for advancement to an RPC. These hours can be divided as below:
  • 500 hours – Direct Counseling (as a counselor)
  • 1500 hours – Attending Case Study Circle (CSC) meetings, workshops, volunteering services, seminars, conferences, professional development, observation of training sessions, self-care journaling (proper tracking), personal therapy, self-work etc.
• The completion of the CCFs Ethics Assessment is a mandate for the members to continue as JPC category. If the criteria is not satisfied, the member will be moved to the Affiliate Membership (AM) category, unless they start practising with supervision.
• Non practising JPC cannot become RPC

Registered Professional Counselor (RPC) Membership:

Eligibility:

Counselors who have completed their post-graduation in Psychology /Counselling psychology/ Clinical psychology/ Social work or allied disciplines and have 5 years of experience or more as practicing counselors can join as RPCs

Documents Needed:

Eligibility:

Counselors / professionals, who do not have a postgraduate degree in any of the behavioural sciences, yet have received specialized training in HIV counseling, school counseling or teachers who are working in academic institutions are eligible to become members

PG diploma holders from any of the behavioural sciences

Workers in allied fields of academics, education, legal, medical and pharmacology are also eligible to become members Any individual who is interested in the aims and objectives of CCF is also eligible to become a member.

A photocopy of the certificate (highest educational qualification) should be submitted

A note on why He/She wants to join CCF has to be submitted along with the application form

Ms.Sudha Dhamodaran completed MBA.,(Finance & Systems), M.Phil. in Management, M.Sc. Psychology , M.A (Yoga), P.G Diploma in Counselling and also black belt in karate in Isshinryu Style.

• She is a consultant psychologist, Yoga Trainer, Soft skills and Life skills Trainer.
• She is an Expert in students counselling, Parents counselling, Family Counselling & Carrier guidance.
• She is taking yoga classes in schools, colleges and various institutions (BSNL Chennai telephones, NTTTR Tharamani).
• She has conducted workshops in Stress Management, Carrier guidance, Health psychology, Behaviour Modification & Yoga for Human excellence.

• She is Training wing secretary in Chennai Counsellors Foundation (which is leading organisation for counsellors & Psychologists)
• She is a Member of APA - American Psychological Association.
• She is a Member of AIP - Association of Indian Psychologist.
• She is a member of Chennai Volunteers and Voice of People.
• She is having 10 years' experience in corporate, 5 years' experience as a yoga Trainer and 8 years' experience in counselling.

Her Passion is to bring healthy and knowledgeable students through meditation in yoga. So that to keep balance in body, mind & soul, she is practising a designed framework with simplified exercises & asanas for body and various meditations for mind which can be practiced by 3 years and above.

Note:

Moving from JPCs to the RPC category:
